Re-Up: Fairport Convention - Live At The BBC (4 Discs)

Many asked for it and so here it is: the re-up of Fairport Convention's Live at the BBC Box Set.
Here is what I wrote some months ago when I firsted posted it:

There is no need for me to say how I love Fairport's family -I have already dedicated some posts both to Richard Thompson and to Sandy Denny in the past- so there won't be any suprise if I upload this magnificent boxset, "Fairport Convention Live At The BBC". In these first 2 discs you'll find some songs already released in "Heyday", like one of my favourite FC's covers, Leonard Cohen's Suzanne, but not only.
I alway think that their best days are the ones of their very first LP's and their best songs are the ones sung by Sandy Denny, yet these performances are so beautiful, this british folk rock IS so beautiful that I almost forget that.
PS
Among my favourite pieces of music the 10 minutes-long The Bonny Bunch Of Roses (but there are so many...).

Fairport Convention: Liege & Lief

There should be no need for explanation here. Because "Liege & lief" is one of the best albums of all time, the masterpiece of folk-rock, or british way to folk-rock, played by a band at its peak and at its most painful time (if you don't know much of the story that led to L&L read this).
Anyway, this was Fairport Convention's 4th long playing release and, as hard as it appeared to be, it topped also their previously LP, "Unhalfbricking", and it made history for Sandy Denny's perfect vocal performance and its combination of tradionals mostly and self-penned songs (or new suits for traditional songs, with new lyrics for instance).
What else: Richard Thompson may be the best british guitar player ever (sorry for all Eric Clapton fans, by the way)
In a few words:one of my desert island discs.
Plus, this is the 2002 edition, with 2 bonus tracks.

Sandy Denny: A boxful of treasures 2

This is the second CD, including many FAIRPORT CONVENTION songs from their golden period, and also a version of "The ballad of easy rider" that they recorded for "Liege and Life" but did not release, but also an exclusive radio recording), plus more songs (both released and unreleased) with FOTHERINGAY, and with ALEX CAMPBELL & HIS FRIENDS.
For more details about the tracklist see here.

The surprise link is dedicated to the memory of SYD BARRETT, our lost crazy diamond, for he will not return anymore.

Sandy Denny: A boxful of treasures 1

This is the first disc of a wonderful box set for all Fairport Convention and Sandy Denny fans: 5 CDs with lots of unreleased and altrnate takes (the fifth also being made of home recordings). On this first youn can find songs from her early career: as a solo artist and with the Strawbs.
See Amazon for the tracklist.
I also hope some of you who do not know Sandy will try to listen to this because she is one of the the most beautuful voices of all times and, to me, I have to confess that it is hard to be as struck by a voice as I was by listening for the first time to Sandy's "Who knows where the time goes?" as performed by her with Fairport convention. Here there is her first version (along wih the Strawbs).
You may want to read some reviews on this box @ the BBC site or @ Artistdirect.
And on this fan site you can find her discography, while on this other one lyrics and tabs.
